Speaker 1: The 2022 range Rover was unveiled a couple months back. I got to attend the event, but it was very quick. So I didn't have much time to really study this vehicle, but I've been checking it out here on the floor of the Los Angeles auto show. And here are a few of my favorite aspects of this large luxury SUV. All right. The first thing I've gotta talk about is the design. This vehicle looks like nothing else on the road. I mean, it's not on the road, but you get what I mean. It is so clean. It is super minimalist and I absolutely [00:00:30] love it. I mean, the grill is proportional with the rest of the body. There's no superfluous trim or unnecessary lines stamped into the sheet metal. It's all very clean, super elegant, but there are also a few classic range Rover styling cues here.
Speaker 1: The roofline tapers toward the rear. The SI rises up a little bit and there are very strong shoulders here on the doors. Beyond that they've flush mounted the glass or very nearly flush mounted it, which looks extremely sleek, but this also [00:01:00] helps cut down on winds in assistance and makes the interior just a little bit quieter. Next up. Let's talk power trains. Now I can't really comment on these just yet since I haven't driven this vehicle, but land Rover is offering a range of different power trains in this SUV. Serving base duty is an inline six augmented by a mild hybrid system that should get you 309 five horsepower stepping up the ladder, a 4.4 liter twin turbo BMW V eight is good for 523 ponies. [00:01:30] Then around about 2023, you should be able to get this vehicle with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that provides 62 miles of electric range.
Speaker 1: And that is a pretty impressive figure. A lot of plug-ins these days have 2025 miles, which is certainly good, but 62 is a real figure. It's a usable number. So kudos to land Rover for that finally in 2024 and all electric version of the range Rover will be offered. That should be the highest performance model available, but land Rover is not [00:02:00] actually going for a bare bone zero to 60 time. It'll certainly have good performance, but what they're going for is silence and smoothness. One thing I really like about this vehicle is some of the in cabin tech and what we have here is a curved 13.1 inch infotainment display it's super crisp and colorful. It also seems pretty snappy as I poke around here. Um, it also has very strong haptic feedback. So wherever you're clicking on the screen, you get a very [00:02:30] easily identifiable vibration. So it makes it feel like you're actually clicking on a physical button, which should be pretty helpful when you're driving. This is a range R so you expect it to be luxurious, but they knocked it out of the park for 2022. This vehicle is low loaded with ultra premium materials. This leather is super soft, but beyond your traditional cow hides and wood furnishings, land Rover is offering more sustainable materials. Leather that's been tanned in a more ecologically friendly way. You can get
Speaker 2: Ultra fabrics, [00:03:00] wool based fabrics. Certain models are even available with ceramic accents. And I love that they're doing that. They're mixing things up with new materials, but materials that still feel super premium. The new range Rover is offered in standard and extended length model. So you can now get this vehicle with a third row seats and the ability to carry up to seven people, which should make it pretty popular here in the us. Of course, you can also get it with a five passenger interior or a super luxurious four [00:03:30] passenger interior, which is ultra comfortable. This new range Rover is super impressive. And I can't wait to actually, you know, drive one, which fortunately won't take too long because these things should go on sale next spring.
