Meizu MX (unlocked)

Sure, the Meizu MX may look like an iPhone from far away, but up close it's clear this phone runs Android Gingerbread.

The front of the Meizu MX is dominated by a sharp screen that packs the same number of pixels as the iPhone 4's Retina Display.

On back of the Meizu MX is its 8-megapixel camera and LED flash.

A tiny speaker located on the Meizu MX's back side pumps out a decent amount of volume.

The Meizu MX takes a design departure from the classic iPhone chrome and uses white plastic instead.

The bottom lip of the Meizu MX features a small Micro-USB port.

On top of the Meizu MX sits a small power button and 3.5mm headphone jack.

A subtle logo fashioned in ancient-style Chinese characters is the only real indication the Meizu MX comes straight out of the Middle Kingdom.

Thinner than the old iPhone 3G it was likely inspired by, the Meizu MX is trim and very pocket-friendly.

Could this be iOS? Nope, but the Meizu MX's horizontally scrolling home screens, which lack Android's traditional app tray, sure look like the iPhone's interface.

Meizu's imitation of Apple software extends to the MX's virtual keyboard, too. It also has Apple's pop-up typewriter style keys.

Though the Meizu MX features an Apple-like keyboard, it also has Android Gingerbread attributes, like a punctuation bar running across its top edge. The result: a great typing experience that's both accurate and fast.
