'Sharknado' turns to the shark side with Star Wars-style poster

Ian Ziering's trusty chainsaw stands in for a lightsaber as the Syfy network releases a poster and cast list for its upcoming TV movie.

May the Fourth be with the sharks, too. On Wednesday, Syfy revealed the poster for "Sharknado: The 4th Awakens," and befitting the movie's Star Wars-style title, the poster pays homage to the poster for "The Force Awakens."

That's Ian Ziering, whose character Fin treats all sharks like they're Alderaan, front and center, with his trusty chainsaw standing in for a lightsaber. Tara Reid's April, who has to be the cast member voted most likely to own a Leia-style gold bikini, has a prominent place, too. Reid's character is kind of the Schrodinger's Cat of "Sharknado" -- it has yet to be revealed whether fans voted to kill her off or not. (Come ON, like the network would let her leave! It'd be like killing off Han So -- er, never mind.)

Syfy also released the list of stars who will cameo in the TV movie, which airs July 31 in the US and August 2 in the UK (Australians can check on the air date there by clicking on the link). Look for Vince Neil, Wayne Newton, Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Stacey Dash and David "Bud Bundy" Faustino to be among the cast.

The best part of the poster, however, is the flying sharks and cows. Honestly, that's the one area where the Star Wars franchise is lacking, and it's good to see them get their due here. These are not the hammerheads you're looking for.
