AIM freeze: Personal Firewall and DoorStop

CNET staff
AIM freeze? We have a couple of reports that AIM users (at least with version 4.2.1147) started having freezes when trying to use the program over the week-end. Turning the ticker feature off seemed to help. AOL may have fixed the problem as of today. Personal Firewall based on DoorStop Robert Wiebe correctly notes that Symantec's new Norton Personal Firewall 1.0 is derived from DoorStop. When he installed it, a message appeared that said: "This is an upgrade to Doorstop and will now erase...DoorStop files and keep your preferences." It also gives copyright acknowledgment to Open Door Networks, the makers of DoorStop.
