NBC's Roll Up Your Sleeves special already had a number of celebrities and guests signed on to help promote vaccinations. Now a couple of presidents are joining the mix as well. NBC on Tuesday announced that President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama will appear as part of the hour-long Sunday night special.

The Roll Up Your Sleeves TV event is sponsored by Walgreens and will air this Sunday, April 18, at 7 p.m. ET/PT. Walgreens announced the special in early April with scheduled appearances from former first lady Michelle Obama, entertainer Lin-Manuel Miranda, the president's chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci and others.

The event aims to encourage Americans to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccination when they are able, quell fears and separate fact from fiction about the available vaccines.

US health officials on Tuesday called for a pause in the distribution of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine while cases of rare blood clots are reviewed. The TV special will look to bolster public confidence in the process as access to vaccinations increases.
