First private moon mission scheduled for 2017

After getting approval from the US, Moon Express plans to fly a lander to the moon.

Watch this: US approves first private moon mission

It's not science fiction, it's fact. Moon Express received permission to conduct the first private mission to the moon. This is the first private space mission that will go beyond the orbit of the Earth. The mission should occur in 2017, where a lander will conduct experiments. Moon Express has high hopes that this will lead to many more future missions.
