There is a problem with wireless charging. And no I'm not referring to the fact that there is a wire. But when you put a phone on a Qi wireless charger, if it's not positioned just right it might not charge.
Apple's solution is to use magnets in the phone and charger to connect them together in an ideal position to get the most efficient charge possible.
Apple's riff on wireless charging is called MagSafe, which not only opens the possibilities up for charging, but also cases and accessories.
MagSafe also uses your iPhone's NFC to connect with the charger or MagSafe accessory.
This means your phone can know what it's connected to.
When you connect a MagSafe Charger to the iPhone 12, an animation of a ring pops up on the screen.
Apple's MagSafe Charger costs $39.
It's a circular pad with a USB-C cable hardwired in. It kind of looks like a stethoscope. If you want to take advantage 15W charging speeds you'll need to buy Apple's 20W USB-C wall adapter for $19.
The charger can work directly attached through a phone or stack on top of a MagSafe case. Here it is connected to a MagSafe leather sleeve.
Apple also sells the $129 MagSafe Duo Charger that can charge both an iPhone 12 and an Apple Watch.

When it's open, there are two charging circles. One is MagSafe for the iPhone 12. The other is for the Apple Watch. You can lay an Apple Watch on it flat or pop it up and charge it on its side.
It only comes with a lighting to USB-C cable. If you want to take advantage of faster charging speed you'll need to buy Apple's 20W USB-C wall adapter for $19.
Despite it's price, there are going to be a lot of people who want to get the MagSafe Duo Charger.
This is a clear case with MagSafe that Apple sells for the iPhone 12 family.
Here is the $49 case on a Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro. The white MagSafe circle and dash where the cable goes gives off a serious racing stripe-vibe.
This is a leather detachable wallet with MagSafe that costs $59. It's a minimalist wallet designed to hold up to three cards. If you're using Apple Pay, you'd likely use it to carry IDs and such. There is a shielding that protects your cards from MagSafe magnets.
It can attach directly to the back of the phone or stack onto the outside of a MagSafe case.
This is a leather case with MagSafe that Apple sells for $59.

This is a $49 silicone case with MagSafe that Apple sells for all of the new iPhone 12 models.
This is the $129 leather sleeve with MagSafe. You can keep your iPhone inside as well as a few cards.

The leather sleeve also has a wrist strap.
The back of it has an indentation for the camera bump and the Apple logo.
