New version fixes tmp issue, more The new release of Safari's public beta, version 0.8.1, fixes the previously reported issues of deleting the /tmp and home directories - which caused the inability to print or start Classic, and a number of other issues.

Enabling the debug menu through Terminal While a similar effect can be obtained with freeware utilities like Safari Enhancer, you can use the following steps to enable a "debug" menu, allowing you to change the user agent, and modify security settings:

• Quit Safari if it is open
• Open the Terminal
• Type "defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1" (no quotes)
• Re-launch Safari

Accepting self-signed certificates Braz Brandt notes a workaround for allowing self-signed certificate sites to work with Safari. The tool inserts self-signed certificates into OS X's X509 keychain, until Apple releases a mechanism to automatically prompt users to accept non-trusted certificates.

• Quit Safari;
• cp /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors ~/Library/Keychains/
• /usr/bin/certtool i d k=X509Anchors
• sudo cp ~/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors /System/Library/Keychains/
