The Social Network interactive trailer flaunts fun Facebook facts

The Social Network has a new, interactive trailer. The ad for David Fincher's less than flattering portrait of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg features Facebook facts and clips accessible by clicking in the trailer.

The film is directed by Fight Club helmer David Fincher and penned by West Wing scribe Aaron Sorkin. It stars Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, alongside Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Rashida Jones.

Tidbits attached to the new trailer reveal that Sorkin snapped up the film rights to the book Accidental Billionaires after reading just three pages by author Ben Mezrich, and that Eisenberg's cousin works for Facebook.

The trailer adds a couple of shots we haven't seen before, and gives more of a glimpse of the conflict between Timberlake's Sean Parker -- co-founder of Napster -- and Garfield's Eduardo Saverin, described here as Zuckerberg's only friend.

As well as Parker, the trailer reveals that YouTube founder Steve Chen and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel were also involved in Facebook's early days. Small world.
