Reebok's Alien Stomper sneakers are equal-opportunity this year

Last year, the movie-tie-in shoes were erroneously listed as coming only in men's sizes.

You'll mostly wear them at night. Mostly.

If there's a xenomorph from the Alien series in your neighborhood that needs to be stomped -- well, maybe don't do that, because they have acid for blood. But if you didn't know that one crucial fact, you might want to stomp them while wearing one of the new pairs of Alien Stomper sneakers from Reebok.

"The climactic clash from 'Aliens' has inspired this highly collectible double-pack of Alien Stompers, launching on July 18 in unisex sizing," the Reebok site notes. The black pair is called the "Queen," the yellow pair is called the "Powerloader." They sell as a pack for $325, though if that's a little steep for your acidy blood, you can enter to win a pack.

That bit about the "unisex sizing" is important, because when Reebok did this last year, the shoe was listed on the company's website in only men's sizes, despite the fact that "Aliens" heroine Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) was a woman. As we reported then, Reebok said this was an error, and that the shoe actually "was produced in sizes (US Men's) 3.5 - 12, which is a typical size range for a unisex model"

Regardless, last year's shoes immediately sold out anyway and landed on eBay for alien-queen-size prices.

"Inspired by the infamous Queen Alien and Power Loader, these sneakers are a movie buff's dream," the Reebok release notes. "With nods to the film's heritage on every strap and a tricked out double box with parts of the ACTUAL script engrained in it, no detail was left out."

The box the shoes come in wasn't an afterthought -- even Ripley's famous line, "Get away from her, you bitch" is worked into its design. And we especially like the green spatter that looks as if the acid blood is already eating away at the box's cover. Told you not to stomp them.

Shoe designer Chris Hill says the box the shoes come in was inspired by the final fight in "Aliens."
